Book Diom Mboss Group's story

Coumba is the president of the “Book Diom” Group. She is 43 years old, divorced and the mother of four children aged 6 to 17, who all go to school.

This loan is intended for all eleven women members of the Group to finance their sheep farming business. Coumba has been in this sector for several years. With this loan she plans to buy three animals, animal feed, hay and also pay for vaccines. She gets her supplies from the weekly markets in her locality. To sell her products, she takes advantage of these same markets and of those organized in the surrounding villages.

This loan will allow her to expand her business and her turnover. With this increase in her income, she will be able to improve the living conditions of her children, especially since she is divorced. She will be able to buy school supplies, food, medicine when the children get sick, etc. She also intends to open a restaurant with her savings that she is growing little by little.

The challenges she is often faced with are safety, the lack of resources to care for the animals and to transport them to the markets.
