Doris's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to hire more labor so that she can expand her production and make more income for her family.

Doris's story

Doris (a repeat Kiva borrower) is 64 years old and lives in Kenyenya, an area endowed with natural beauty. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has farmed for the past twenty years, enabling her to comfortably meet the demands of her family. Doris believes that Kiva lenders are the champions of hope for a better future.

She is seeking this loan to hire more labor so that she can expand her production and make more income for her family. Unlike most microfinances in Kenya that have imposed very complicated procedures for funds acquisition, thereby discouraging smallholder farmers, Juhudi Kilimo is working closely with Kiva to make loan acquisition for a smallholder farmer easy and convenient. Through this intervention, movement of funds in the rural communities has increased, thereby alleviating rural poverty.

Be inspired to support Doris with a loan today to light up her flames of hope for a better future.
