Mele's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy mulberry for her tapa making business and also help with the building of their new house.

Mele's story

This is Mele. She is a 54 year old mother to seven children. Mele has become a widow. It was a great loss to her family. Her husband passed away on the week she applied for her loan. Her husband was her great helper. Despite the loss of her husband, Mele insists on keeping her business running and make money for their children. Some of her children have married and have their own families. Mele remains with the four youngest children, and she is responsible for their needs and wants. She runs a business of weaving and tapa making, but this loan mainly focuses on her tapa making business. She weaves on her own, and for making the tapa, she participates in a group of women in their village and together they make tapas. Mele applies for her loan hoping to use the loan money to buy mulberry and also to build her house. All it needs is some finishing touch and with her loan money, it will do.
