Araceli's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy plywood, lumber, paint, and nails that will be used for their fishing boat; the rest of the loan will be used to buy assorted groceries for their store.
Araceli's story
Araceli is from Concepcion, Iloilo. She is 55 years old and married. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store, selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for many years. Meanwhile, her husband works as a fisherman to provide their family’s need.
Now, she asks for a loan of PHP35, 000 through Kiva’s field partner, CEV (A Microfinance NGO) in the Philippines which she will use to buy plywood, lumber, paint, and nails that will be used for their fishing boat. The rest of the loan will be used to buy assorted groceries for their store.
Araceli wants to augment their livelihood in the future for a better means of living.
