A loan helped to buy fingerlings.

Pa Khoang 43 Group's story

Ms. Tuan, 29 years old, is a Thai ethnic woman who is married and has two children: a son who is in 4th grade and a daughter who is in 6th grade. Her family consists of 6 people living in a small house on stilts in a poor village in the Dien Bien province.

Her husband works as a mason and is the main income generator for the family. She does some work to earn extra income such as growing rice and raising fish, buffalo, pigs, chickens, and ducks. She also has nearly 3 years of experience in fish-farming. She realized that fish were easy to raise and have fewer diseases, so she decided to get a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to invest in buying fingerlings and expanding her husbandry model.

She hopes that her experience combined with the technical support from the Anh Chi Em program staff means the investment will be successful and profitable to pay tuition fees for her children.
