A loan helped to buy a baby buffalo.
Thanh Yen 34 Group's story
Ms. Tuoi, 32 years old, is a Thai ethnic woman who is married and has a 12-year-old daughter. Her family lives in a house in a poor village in Dien Bien province.
Her husband works as a mason and he is the main income generator for the family. She does some work to generate additional income such as growing rice and vegetables, as well as raising buffalo and chickens. However, her family's budget is still tight, so she always tries to work hard to develop her income and expand her husbandry.
She wanted to invest in buying a baby buffalo, raising it for breeding and plowing to reduce labor force, so she decided to get a loan from the Anh Chi Em program. She hopes that with her little experience and technical support from the Anh Chi Em program staff, the investment will be successful and profitable so that she can afford buying a bicycle for her daughter to go to school.
