A loan helped to buy sheep to fatten.

01_Refane Mboss Group's story

This group is made up of 13 valiant women, who are a part of the banc villageois that was created in December 2012. They all live in the same village and are joined by solidarity and strong family ties. They have repaid several loans successfully. Their main type of work is in commerce and agriculture.

Ngouye is 44 years old and the leader and treasurer [of the group]. She is standing on the far left [in the photo] with her hand raised. She is married and a mother of nine children, including one son. All of the children go to school.

Ngouye raises sheep, which she buys from the weekly village markets. She fattens the sheep at home. She has more than seven years' of good experience with this type of work.

Her loan is going to be used to buy two sheep and feed. She will raise the sheep and sell them about six months later for large profits. Profits will allow her to help her husband with the family expenses (clothing, food) and cover some small expenses and those of her children.
