A loan helped to buy veggies from local smallholder farmers in her community to sell in order to increase her family income.

Fátima's story

Fátima is a 64-year-old Mozambican woman from Vanduzi, Manica province. She lives with her three children.

Fátima is a very hardworking woman. She has worked in agriculture since she was young, and thanks to this activity, she was able to feed her children and send them to school.

Fátima specialized in veggies production; her main crop is potatoes. She also buys potatoes and other veggies from other local smallholder farmers in order to supply to a fix market.

Fátima wants to increase her business, but there are no credit institutions in her community.

For this reason, she is requesting a Kiva loan to buy veggies from local smallholder farmers in her community to sell in order to increase her family income.
