Batumike Nyatende Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy six cartons of fish to strengthen her initial capital.

Batumike Nyatende Group's story

Eugenie, 40, is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and leads the village group Batumike Nyatende. She is married with twelve children, six of whom are in school. Her husband is a mason.

She sells fresh fish, which is a business she started eight years ago with funds from her husband. She later turned to the Hekima program to support her business, which has since grown progressively.

She will use this loan to buy six cartons of fish to strengthen her initial capital. Her business challenge is to find more customers. She would like to increase her sales territory and buy a plot of land.

Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for their support of business owners without access to traditional banking facilities in the context of the global COVID-19 crisis.

The photo is of only the group leader because of COVID-19.
