Carmen Graciela's story

Carmen Graciela has a life-partner and four children. Her partner is a street vendor of lottery tickets. They live in their own home in Picoazá. Picoazá is known for its shops and its religious festivals. The area produces vegetables, legumes and tropical fruit. It is a source of progress and Manabí's main, informal commercial center.

Carmen Graciela has a small grocery set up in her home. She sells a variety of products to her neighbors. She sells rice, sugar, cooking oil, detergents, colas, water etc. She works every day from 6:00am until 8:00pm and sometimes even later. Carmen Graciela also raises pigs and chickens in her yard. She sells them live.

The health crisis was very bad for Carmen Graciela in the beginning because she couldn't make her sales. But now, little by little, her business is getting revived, and so she is able to continue earning an income.

With this loan, Carmen Graciela will purchase colas, water, milk, coffee, young pigs, chickens etc. Her hopes are to have a large store and for her family to be very healthy.
