Book Jom Ndiebel Group's story

Mrs. Awa is the president of a group named BOOK JOM NDIEBEL in the Wolof language, which means "sharing the same goals" in English. The group consists of eigth women who raise livestock.

Mrs. Awa is a 41-year-old married mother to four children aged 5 to 15 years old, three of whom are school educated. Her husband is a tailor. She is solvent and has been conducting her activity for over 10 years. She buys sheep at the local weekly markets to raise them for resale at the same venues. Her income allows her to provide for her family's needs (food, health care, education, hygiene, etc.)

She turned to the MFI for help in buying ewes and goats, some feed and some vaccines in an effort to bolster her activity and increase her income. Some of her challenges include disease, death and theft of the animals.

Her primary goal is to own a large herd.
