Ajuah's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 37-year-old Ajuah from Wilberforce branch. She is married with four children between the ages of 4 and 17 years old, and all of them are attending school. She also has two other relatives who depend on her. She started her business to care for her family’s welfare.

Ajuah runs a retail business and sells foodstuffs like rice per bag, oil, onions, Maggie, palm oil, salt and other assorted items. She has been in this business for 8 years. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID-19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase foodstuffs like rice, palm oil, vegetable oil, Maggie, onions, salt and other assorted item to increase her business. Ajuah says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family. In the future, she would like to be established on a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
