George William's story

George William is 43 years old and lives in the town of Kumi in the Soroti region of Uganda. He is married and has 8 children, of whom 5 are currently in school. For the past 9 years, George William has been working hard to manage his business, which transports goods.

To help expand his business, George William has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy tires for the vehicle and repair or replace some other missing items on the car for better use.

This will help George William to generate greater profits and enable him to meet the basic needs for his family and pay school fees for his young siblings since their father died.

George William hopes that, in the future,he will be able to buy more vehicles for his transportation business.

George William is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like George William who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
