James's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy and stock more electric items to sell at his convenient store.

James's story

James is 30 years old and lives in the town of Kumi in the Soroti region of Uganda. He is married and has five children with three of them currently in school. For the past seven years, James has been working hard to manage his electronics shop, which deals in electronic items.

To help expand his business, James has requested a loan of 400,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy and stock more electric items to sell at his convenient store, and will help James to generate greater profits and improving his family standards of living with enough basic needs and pay school fees for his children. James hopes that in the future he will be able to to own a very big electronic shop.

James is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like James who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
