Rosa Petra's story

Rosa Petra is a 63-year-old micro-entrepreneur who lives in the city of Barranquilla. She is married and is the mother of two children, who are 32 and 38 years old.

She has an auto shop, where she offers hydraulic press services; sells oil; repairs engines, brakes, suspensions; etc. The idea for the business came because her spouse is an auto mechanic, and she saw an opportunity 30 years ago to take advantage of his knowledge, and so started the business that she has today. With the income generated, she took her children forward, offering them a better quality of life. Her customers are neighbors in the area, friends, references, and passers-by.

Because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, her business declined, due to concerns over health and safety, and her cash flow decreased drastically. For this reason, she came to the Programa Barranquilla Responde ("Barranquilla Responds Program") with the goal of requesting her first Kiva loan from Fundación Santo Domingo. Her goal is to invest in automotive oil, bushings, and bearings. Support her in this loan for her business.
