Linda Carolina's story

Linda is a 40-year-old businesswoman and a resident of the city of Barranquilla. She started her business in January 2019 for the purpose of building, designing, repairing, and preserving all types of buildings. Her work is done at the end or during the finishing touches phase of a construction or civil engineering project. Linda came up with the idea for this business when she was still working for a construction company where she was employed for almost 12 years. She wanted to become independent and be the owner and legal representative of her own enterprise.

Her company currently works with other professionals in the construction sector to develop housing plans in the city of Barranquilla. She created jobs for five direct employees and also hires subcontractors for specific tasks. The social impact of her business is reflected in the job opportunities she has created. In addition, the contribution of construction and business stimulus in the city has created opportunities for more families to own a home.

Linda is seeking to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and boost the restart of her business activity. She joined the program “Barranquilla Responds” and requested a Kiva loan through Fundación Santo Domingo. Linda will use the funds to pay utilities, taxes, fees, and other expenses. Please support her.
