A loan helped to buy quality farming inputs that she can improve her farm production and support her family during this hard time.

Rose's story

Rose is a 32-year-old mother of one child living in Kenyenya, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises. She is a hard-working woman who has farmed for the past twelve years.

She is seeking this loan to buy quality farming inputs that she can improve her farm production and support her family during this hard time. The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is a lack of short-term credit facilities.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival. Rose hopeful that all Kiva lenders are adhering to the safety measures in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
