Mateki Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase the ACE-1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Mateki Group's story

Malerato is a 37-year-old woman who lives with 1 child in a 2-bedroom house without access to electricity.

Malerato relies on street vending for a living, and she struggles to pay for her multiple fuel needs on her insufficient income. Most of the money she spends on her energy expenses goes on paraffin, which costs up to LSL 194 per month. She also spends as much as 1 hour per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs, like phone charging.

Malerato and the other member of the group in this village each bought the ACE 1 cook-stove to help them to save the money they spend every month on fuel, and also to help them to access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cook-stove is biomass and solar powered.
