Tabitha's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, which she'll use to improve her production and earn more to support her family.

Tabitha's story

Tabitha, a repeat Kiva borrower, is a 68-year-old mother of one living in Chuka, a remote area on a gentle plain before ascent into the central highlands of Kenya. Through 10 years of mixed farming, she's made tremendous progress.

She's seeking this loan to buy farm inputs, which she'll use to improve her production and earn more income to support her family.

COVID-19 has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is at the forefront in combating this pandemic by supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs during this difficult period. Tabitha is hopeful all Kiva lenders are adhering to safety measures in responding to the pandemic.
