A loan helped to grow onions.

09_Gpf Yontabe Fanaye Group's story

This group was created in November 2018 following a good social cohesion of the members. Living in the same village, these seven women contributed small amounts each month to each other which enabled them to carry out their economic activities. They subsequently formed a group in order to gain access to the banking sector. Their main business activity is market gardening.

Diaw is the group representative. She is at the left in the photo with her hand raised. She is a 41-year-old divorced woman, and is mother of three boys and one girl. She is a market gardener. She rents a plot where she grows onions. With this loan, she will purchase seeds and pesticides and take into account all the other necessary expenses for the smooth running of her business.

With the profits earned, Diaw plans to purchase a cow to fatten for six months and then resell.
