Prossy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to load float on her mobile money line.

Prossy's story

Prossy is 22 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She has four children, three of whom are currently in school. For the past three years, Prossy has been working hard to manage her mobile transaction business, which carries out mobile money transactions.

To help expand her business, Prossy has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to load float on her mobile money line. This will help Prossy generate greater profits by expanding her business. She also will be able to support her family, thereby improving their standard of living. Prossy hopes that in the future she will be able to build rentals.

Prossy is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities and a forum for life-skills training.
