Daisy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy certified and hybrid fertilizers to improve her crop farming and elevate her living standard.

Daisy's story

Dear Kiva community!

This is Daisy (27 years, pictured carrying her baby on her back): polite, devoted, responsible, and hardworking. Daisy started practicing mixed farming a few years ago. She grows tea and keeps dairy animals.

She has gained so much experience through these years of farming. She is very passionate about farming and loves cultivating her farm.

Although she makes profits from farming, she is not comfortable and has always wanted to increase her income. She is seeking a loan to buy certified fertilizers in order to improve her crop farm.

With the loan, Daisy will be assured a good crop harvest, and this will translate into more profits and income. She wants what any mother would want for her family, a bright future.

Unlike most microfinance institutions in Kenya, which have imposed very complicated procedures for funds acquisition, thereby discouraging smallholder farmers, Juhudi Kilimo is working closely with Kiva to make loan acquisition for a smallholder farmer easy and convenient.

Through this intervention, movement of funds in the rural communities has increased, thereby alleviating rural poverty.

Daisy feels inspired to continue farming and motivated to improve her life now that she is a member of Juhudi Kilimo.

You can support Daisy in making her dreams come true with a loan.
