A loan helped to purchase raw materials for his tailoring business.

Emmanuel's story

Emmanuel is a Rwandan business owner of a tailoring business in the host community of Mahama refugee camp. Emmanuel is also married and is a father of one child. He started his business in 2014 with a starting capital of 1,500,000 RWF. He started the business when he was the only tailor but as the business grew, he was able to buy new machines and employed 7 workers to work so that he can satisfy the increasing demand.

During this period of the pandemic, his sales reduced and he also ran out of capital to purchase raw materials to make clothes. In Rwanda, the schools are about to reopen and he has secured a contract to make student uniforms. A loan to Emmanuel will enable him to purchase raw materials to make the uniforms hence go back to his pre COVID revenue. He is positive that his business will boom again and become one of the best in the community.
