but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy lemon juice, dried fish to resell, baobab fruit, bissap, ditakh, and sugar to make juice.
08-Diamoral Group's story
Created in May 2008, this banc villageois is comprised of 21 women. They live in different neighbourhoods but share the same ambitions for a better life. Dynamism and solidarity are key to the cohesion of this group. Astou, who is raising her hand on the photo, represents the group. She is 55 years old and she is married with seven children. She is also taking care of eight other children. She has been working in the retail industry for fifteen years now to improve her standard of living. With her new loan, she is planning to buy lemon juice, netetou [spicy condiment made from the nere seed] and dried fish to resell. She will also buy bissap [a drink made from dried hibiscus flowers], baobab fruit, ditakh [an exotic fruit] and sugar to make juice and sell it. The profits generated from this business will be used to meet the needs of her children.
