A loan helped to purchase merchandise to sell in her store, such as spices, shampoos, soaps, canned goods, snack foods, soft drinks and miscellaneous products.

Thida's story

Thida, 33, is widowed and owns and operates a small convenience shop at home. She sells a variety of merchandise to local people in her community, such as snack foods, sweets and noodles. She is able to generate income in the neighborhood of 10,000 Cambodian riel per day to cover her daily costs. However, her children assist her greatly in this business.

Now Thida is asking for a loan for $2,000 (US) to purchase merchandise to sell in her store, such as spices, shampoos, soaps, canned goods, snack foods, soft drinks and miscellaneous products. She hopes to fill her store with groceries that will satisfy her customers’ needs.

Through the income she will earn from her business, she will provide her children's basic needs in school and daily food.
