Nena's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy plastic screen, bamboo and nylon (string) for fish traps, and to buy dried fish to sell.

Nena's story

Nena lives in Concepcion, Iloilo. She is 57 years old and married. To earn an income, she and her family do fishing. They have been in this livelihood for many years. Aside from fishing, she also buys and sells dried fish for additional income.

Now, she asks for a loan of PHP 30,000 through Kiva’s field partner, CEVI, a microfinance NGO in the Philippines. She will use this loan to buy plastic screen, bamboo and nylon (string) for fish traps. The other part of this loan will be used to buy dried fish to sell.

Nena wants to be successful in the future for a better means of living.
