A loan helped to stock up on three bales of second-hand pants, to strengthen her initial capital.

Uzima Group's story

Marceline is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and leader of the Uzima groupe villageoise. She is married, fifty-five years old and the mother of nine children who all attend school. Her partner is a salesman.

She runs a business selling second-hand clothing. She started this business in 1987 with start-up funds she received from her husband. Later, she joined Hekima's program to support her business as it developed gradually. With this new loan, she will stock up on three bales of second-hand pants, to strengthen her initial capital. Her main business challenge is related to unpaid debts.

She would like to develop her business. Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners without access to traditional banking services, especially in the context of the global Covid-19 pandemic. Only the leader of the group is shown in the photo due to Covid-19.
