Utaratibu Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on flour and rice for her store.

Utaratibu Group's story

Ms. Jeannette is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and presides over the village group named “UTARATIBU”. She is married, 34 years old, and the mother of five children, who are all in school. Her partner works at a private company.

A vendor of various goods, she started this enterprise five years ago with startup funding from her husband. Later on, she joined the Hekima program for supporting her enterprise and has worked progressively in it.

With this new loan, she will stock up with 300 kg of flour and 100 kg of rice to bolster her initial capital. The challenge in her business has to do with the rise in the dollar exchange rate.

She would like to develop her enterprise, so that she might become a major supplier of merchandise. So, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners lacking cash during this global crisis tied to Covid-19. The photo shows only the group leader because of Covid-19.
