Marina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a dairy cow in order to increase her sales of milk to a local plant.

Marina's story

Marina is 48 years old and married, with two daughters. She has a secondary education. She has been raising livestock and growing crops since 2001, and this is her family's main source of income. Thanks to her hard work, her farm presently consists of two cows, 20 sheep, and a 1.06-hectare plot of land on which she grows beans. She has a contract to deliver organic milk to a local plant, where it is processed into dairy products. This permits her to put money back into her business on an ongoing basis.

After learning that she could obtain a loan from Bai Tushum Bank, using as collateral the contract for future deliveries under a Value-Added Chain arrangement, Marina has applied for a loan of 70,000 som (KGS) to buy a dairy cow. Her goal in this is to increase her milk sales. The dairy plant's payments for the milk will be deposited directly into Marina's bank account, and the loan payments will be automatically deducted. The income generated by this loan will help Marina develop her farm going forward and improve the family's situation.
