Virgen De La Rosa Mistica Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to restock her store with soft drinks, candies, dairy products, and cleaning supplies.

Virgen De La Rosa Mistica Group's story

Celia was invited to join a Diaconía Trust Group five years ago at her church. Not long after that, she parted from the group to gather 12 new women together to form her current group, “Virgen de la Rosa Mistica.” Celia has a small general store and makes cakes by order. “My favourite thing about working with Diaconía is the focus on savings. Because you pay everything back and still you come out with a little something saved for yourself,” she commented. With her loans, Celia invests in her business. With her savings, she invests in her home. Through the past few loan cycles, she has improved her home’s structure- most recently by installing a new surrounding fence and front gate. “The neighbourhood looks different- the houses change and get better, the women are investing in their businesses- we're all growing together,” she said with a smile.

Together, Celia and her fellow group members are determined to make it to the other side of economic crisis with the hope of a better future in the forefront of their vision. Her dream is to create a safe and secure home and environment for her family of seven, and to teach her children to study and work hard so that one day they can live on their own.

With her current loan she will restock various items in her general store. Others in Celia's group have office and school supply stores, sell cleaning products, and have food stands.
