A loan helped to purchase orders of sheets with children's designs in different colors.

Geoconda Monserrate's story

Geoconda Monserrate is 42 years old, married, and has three children, ages 23, 19 and 11. They study at the university and secondary school. Her spouse is a master painter. They own their house. They live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016 and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Geoconda Monserrate works at home and as a street vendor selling sheets. She has a variety of colors, sizes, textures, etc. She leaves them on credit with her customers and collects weekly.

During this global crisis, she has had financial difficulties. Her customers were unable to pay her because they have been unemployed and others have died. At first the health crisis was very bad for her since she was unable to sell but now, little by little, she is reactivating it so to be able to continue generating her income.

With this new loan, she will purchase orders of sheets with children's designs in different colors. Her dream is to have a retail space to continue with her sheet sales and that her family is very healthy.
