Marilyn's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy assorted grocery items; another part of this loan will be used to buy fishing net and lumber to repair their fishing boat.

Marilyn's story

Marilyn is a resident of Tubigon, Bohol. She is married and has two dependents. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store, selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for many years. Meanwhile, her husband works as a fisherman to provide for their family’s need.

Now she asks for a loan of PHP 20,000 through Kiva’s field partner CEVI (a microfinance NGO) in the Philippines, which she will use to buy assorted grocery items. Another part of this loan will be used to buy fishing net and lumber to repair their fishing boat.

Marilyn wants to improve this livelihood for the future of her children’s education. She dreams for them to finish their studies.
