Inês's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more grains and cereals to sell to the smallholder farmers in order to support her community.

Inês's story

Inês is a 51-year-old Mozambican woman. She is married and lives in Beira city with her husband and their children. Inês is a producer of grains and cereals with a large work experience in agriculture.

She produces rice, maize, peanuts, beans, and sesame. She sells the main portion of the crops in Manica and Sofala big markets. The rest of the production she sells to the local smallholder farmers so that they can produce in every season of production.

The cyclone Idai, in 2019, impacted her activity negatively since she lost all grains in her store, which lead her to start over again. After receiving technical support from iDE field staff, Inês was also identified as a good facilitator of seeds for local smallholder farmers, since she could supply good quality seeds to local farmers at a good price.

Since she foresees a large demand for grains and cereals in her community, Inês is requesting a Kiva loan to buy more grains and cereals to sell to the smallholder farmers in order to support her community.
