Elenita's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy hog feed and fertilizer.

Elenita's story

For the past twelve years, Elenita has engaged in hog raising as a livelihood. She raises and sells pigs to the local settlers in her place. In addition, she also grows rice and sells copra (dried coconut meat), respectively. She is 44 years old and is a married woman with six children. Five children are still attending school. Her income mainly goes for food and school expenses.

Her main challenge is in handling both projects with limited funds. Therefore, she is applying for a loan from Kiva's field partner in the Philippines, CEVI, that will be used to buy hog feed and fertilizer.

She is thankful for the funds and is determined to grow both sources of income successfully. With more income, Elenita will slowly be able to settle her obligation.
