Retlakhutla Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase the ACE-1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging, in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Retlakhutla Group's story

Manthikhuoa is a 46-year-old woman who lives in a multi-bedroom house with 5 other family members, including 4 children. Manthikhuoa relies on family support and struggles with buying multiple fuels and an incompetent income. She spends the most amount of her energy expenses on electricity, wood, paraffin and gas, which costs up to LSL 735 per month. She also spends as much as 1 hour per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Manthikhuoa and the other members of the group in this village each bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help them save the money they spend every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free.

The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass- and solar-powered. For more information on the ACE1 cook stove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy
