Filomena Rafaela's story

Filomena Rafaela and her family live in the Jipijapa Canton, known as the "Sultan of Coffee'. It has been greatly affected by Covid-19.

She is a hardworking woman who, together with her husband and in spite of her age and the fear of getting sick from this pandemic, searches for a way of getting ahead.

Filomena makes a living selling fruits and vegetables and has a stall in a local market. There, she sells her produce to her customers who come to stock up on food.

The crisis has turned out to be very difficult given that at the beginning she was unable to sell. Worse still, she had a business selling household goods, which she had to abandon. She has just recently started to sell. This left her with losses preventing her from paying off her debts.

This loan is to buy fruit and vegetables.
