Oxiacaque Group's story
The“Oxiacaque” group is called that because they are from the town of the same name. It is maD. up of six women. They are represented by Patricia U. C.. She has 1 child and her husband is an electrician. She will buy cables, lightbulbs, contacts, electricity tester, pliers and tape. All of Aniceta's children are married. Her activity is selling food that she offers the employees of companies in town. Edita has a little grocery store in her home. Isidra has 2 children, and she sells fish from her home. Margarita and Maria Jesus raise pigs for slaughter and sell meat. Margarita has 3 children and Maria Jesus has none. Chucha, as she is known in her community, will buy pigs, feed, and vitamins. Her husband is the one who is in charge of slaughtering and selling the meat in the community. He also sells pork rinds, longaniza, and lard. Her goal is for her children to have a better quality of life and to have a butcher shop in her community and in neighboring communities. All of them are very cheerful and they are happy that they are able to have the support to grow their economic activities. 4 of the activities are different and 2 are similar. It is a supportive group. They are very grateful for the support offered by the foundation and KIVA for considering them when granting them financing and making their businesses successful.
