Maria Asunción's story

Maria Asunción is married, she has two children. Her husband is a craftsman who works with aluminum and glass. They live in her mother-in-laws home. They live in Portoviejo which was affected by the earthquake on April 16th 2016 and now by the Covid-19 pandemic. The city is a major producer of greens, vegetables and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.
Maria Asunción and her husband have an aluminium and glass workshop, where they work every day to fulfill customer orders. Their clients call on them to do made to measure jobs. The health crisis was very bad at the start because they were unable to sell. Now however the business is slowly re-opening by offering services on-line and using What'sApp. This has allowed they to continue to make an income. Maria is responsible for buying materials and for collecting payment for completed work. In her family her brother in law was ill with Covid-19 , he is now slowly recovering. Several family members were ill, four of whom died.

She will buy aluminium and glass with this loan. Her dream is to become an aluminium and glass distributor and that her children enjoy good health.
