Wendy Karina's story

Wendy Karina is in a common-law marriage, is seven months pregnant, and is studying for a degree in accounting and auditing at the university. Her spouse is an electrical mechanic. They live in a relative's house.

They live in Portoviejo, which was affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016 and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

To pay her financial expenses and be able to continue studying, Wendy Karina works selling products from clothing and Avon (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and women's accessories) catalogs. She offers these to her relatives, friends and classmates, who are her best customers. She leaves them on credit and collects weekly.

During this global crisis, she has had financial difficulties. Her customers are unable to pay her because they have been unemployed and others have died. At first the health crisis was very bad for her because she could no longer sell but now, little by little, she is reactivating it, so to be able to continue generating her income.

With his new loan, she will purchase orders of clothing in different sizes. Her dream is to own a house and that her family is very healthy.
