Sahura's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase improved inputs in order to get a good harvest and enhance living standards.
Sahura is married and lives with her family in a humble mud house in a small village in Kaduna state. In her community, farming is the primary occupation and, like many driven smallholders, Sahura dreams of scaling up her farm business. Sahura is returning to work with Babban Gona this season as she will get access to better-yielding seeds, fertilizers, and other essential farm inputs that will boost her yield. Apart from increasing Sahura’s yield to ensure that her family never goes hungry, this loan will also help her earn up to three times the net income of the average Nigerian farmer, from selling her maize. Since she joined Babban Gona, her happiest memory has been sending her children to school. With lenders’ support to grow her farming business, Sahura is looking forward to a bountiful harvest. Sahura plans to use the profits from this season’s harvest to purchase additional farmland so as to expand her maize farming operations.
