La Colina Group's story

Carmen is a woman who is a visionary. She is 36-years old and has three young children who are still in school.

For three years Carmen has earned her living selling cold juices in the central market in the south end of Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is the hottest city in Bolivia. The winter season is coming to a close, and with it a strong heat wave is coming. They are predicting hotter temperatures than have previously been recorded. It is in this season that Carmen sells more juice.

She is requesting a loan from Sembrar Sartawi IFD, so she can purchase more seasonal fruit. Carmen hopes to increase her production and generate more profits.

Carmen's hopes are to have her own home, to save more money and to be able to pay for her children's academic fees. Within the community bank, the borrowers want to grow and improve themselves, each person who makes up the bank also has goals and dreams.
