01_Santhie Serere Group's story

This banc villageois, set up in July 2006, brings together these seven women who live in the same village and are united by solid values of kinship, neighborhood and solidarity. Their main activity is commerce.
Madame Fatou is the representative of the group, standing on the far right of the photo and raising her hand. Aged 69, she is a widow and mother of eight children, including two boys.
Madame Fatou sells vegetables; her business takes place in the village market, she gets her supplies from wholesalers, and resells retail. She has a good experience of more than 10 years in the sector.
With her loan she intends to buy bags of potatoes, turnips, sweet potatoes, and peppers which she will resell with a good profit margin.
With her profits, she strengthens her trading activity and increases her savings within the banc villageois.
