Awa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy 20 bales of spools of yarn, sequins, and dye, and to save to ensure her children live in good conditions.

Awa's story

Awa is 37 years old and the mother of five children, four of whom attend school. She is a weaver and has been weaving quality traditional pagnes [clothing fabric] at home in a suburban area of the capital for more than 20 years.

She is in her seventh loan cycle with YIKRI and has repaid her first Kiva loan without any difficulties. She is applying for a new loan to buy 20 bales of spools of yarn, sequins, and dye in order to weave many traditional pagnes for an order from a women's association and to satisfy customer demand.

She intends to use her profits to reinvest in her business and to save to put her children in good conditions. She invites everyone to protect themselves from the COVID-19 virus.
