Neftali's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in his cattle-raising microenterprise during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Neftali's story

Neftali is a young and self-driven entrepreneur from the rural community of Santa Librada in East Panama.

Despite his young age, Neftali produces plantain and cocoyam, works part-time on other farmers’ lands and also has recently started with a cattle-raising business, learning from his entrepreneurial family.

Neftali is asking for his first Kiva loan to invest in buying young cattle and selling them later, aiming to make a margin and re-invest in his farming business afterwards. This is a common activity in his region, but Neftali lacks the capital for his cattle investment due to the financial exclusion of rural areas in Panama.

Young farmers in Panama have extremely limited options to access microloans, so thank you for supporting Neftali. This loan will help his family and grow his young farming microenterprise.
