A loan helped to buy compost and pay for labor.

Deysi Filomena's story

Filomena is in a common-law relationship. She is the mother of a six-year-old child and a three-month-old baby. Her husband has worked in agriculture for 10 years. Their luck has depended on their production and the prices at the market.

Filomena is requesting her first loan in the amount of 500 USD. The money will be used to buy compost and pay for labor to help with transplanting onions. It is urgent that this action be taken immediately because if her seedlings are not transplanted soon, they will be lost. Filomena plans to cover other expenses during the growing season by selling some of the potatoes she harvested a month and a half ago. She aspires to build up her own working capital and continue her direct sales without having to rely on middlemen.
