Irene's story

Irene is a resident of Concepcion, Iloilo. She is married and has three dependents. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store, selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for many years. Aside from this, they also do fishing for additional income.

Now she asks for a loan of PHP 12, 000 through Kiva’s field partner CEV, (A Microfinance NGO) in the Philippines which she will use to buy assorted grocery items for her store.

Irene wants to improve this livelihood in the future for her children’s education. She dreams for them to finish their studies.
