Malisha's story

I am a single parent of 4 beautiful children my oldest turning 18 soon. I started my business because it was hard finding people to braid my very rambunctious 3 going on 4 year old sons hair, so I made it a priority to learn. Fast forward a few year later and I had a girl and the challenge was even more difficult. My kids are what motivated me to start working with other kids. I noticed I could be gentle with even the most tender headed of kids. My clients are definitely my inspiration as well. My youngest client being 3, she absolutely loves getting her hair braided which was not the case when we first started a year ago. But life for me hasn’t always easy growing up I was homeless at a few points in time. I took my pain and somehow I ended up bonding with other girls in my position by doing their hair. I was 14 at that time and doing hair has been a passion since. I still take the time to go to the shelter in Greater Milwaukee and pass out care packages and I offer free hair styling to some of the ladies around just to uplift them. For me and my children that is a must because you never know what tomorrow will promise. We meet some amazing people, all from different walks of life this way and I think I’m teaching my kids how to be more appreciative and less materialistic. My biggest hope is to be able to teach you ladies how to care for themselves.
