David Javier's story

David Javier is a 64-year-old small business owner who resides in the municipality of Soledad with his partner. He runs a car garage out of his home, where he provides mechanical services, maintenance and kit sales, such as grease for ball bearings, and more. He has more than 10 years experience working in this industry.

He started this business to generate the earnings he needed to support his family and maintain a good lifestyle. His main clients are neighbors, friends, family, referrals and the general public.

Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, his level of business went down and his earnings dropped drastically. His short-term goal is to avoid closing his garage by moving ahead with his business, despite this difficult situation, as it's the only source of income for the family.

He is currently requesting his first Kiva loan with the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation, which he will invest in motor oil, ball bearings, belts, grease and silicone.
