Emily's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a single woman borrower with good credit standing to buy farm inputs to improve her productivity, leading to increased profits to support her children until they finish school.

Emily's story

Emily (43-year-old single mom of 4 school-going children) is a hardworking mother who resides in a remote village in Molo-Kenya, a land of seemingly never-ending beauty. Emily practices dairy and crop farming. She is a committed and devoted farmer who depends entirely on farming.

Emily is seeking a loan of 50,000 Kenyan shillings (KES), which she will use to buy certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizers to expand her crop farm. By scaling up her business, she will reduce relative production costs and increase output. Emily's strategy is to use the returns from the investment to pay for more farm inputs, a lack of which is a major problem that leads to the closing of many farms due to poor quantity and yields. She will, therefore, be able to increase her profits. This will elevate her standard of living and support her in clearing the school fee debt of her children.
