Sokkhoeun's story

Sokkhoeun is a 35-year-old married woman with two single children. She works on a few plots of land growing rice and yams to earn a living. She has been in this occupation for almost 3 years and earns approximately $6.40 per day. In each harvest season, local traders in the region often come into the village to buy agricultural products from villagers. Agribusiness is an important source of income for her family.

She has requested a loan in the amount of 8,000,000 KHR to build a household latrine to improve their sanitation and personal hygiene. With the loan support she hopes that everyone in her family can have a comfortable lifestyle, healthy living conditions, while she can safeguard the health of her family, and protect the environment.

In the future, she aims to purchase land for farming and push her children to continue studying at university.
